Baby shower question 🤨

So who throws you a baby shower? My mother and sister are throwing me a baby shower in Chicago, IL (where are all my extended family and family friends live) which is awesome. Well my soon to be mother in law is asking when my mom would be planning the one in Des Moines, IA (where I currently live and so do they) to invite their side of the family.

Isn’t that her responsibility to throw the baby shower? Not my moms? I’m not trying to be rude or mean I just feel bad my mom is already planning and paying for one for our side. I don’t think she should have to pay for another one. My parents also paid for my gender reveal party as well and his parents did not.

His mother is very cheap and doesn’t like to spend much on anything. How do I tell her nicely that my mother is not responsible for planning it for her side of the family?
