My parents found out about me and my SO, my dad does not approve our age difference and now idk what to do. I feel alone and like no one is on my side, how do I help myself get through this because right now it's the worst thing I have ever had to overcome..

Even after a year together and getting engaged, his family doesn't accept me either. I'm 21 years older than he is. It always seems that it's the family of the younger person that has the problem. I know it's hard for him, especially since my family isn't anything like that. I think part of it is that my family trusts me to be able to make my own decisions and handle any consequences. They know me as an adult but since he's a younger adult (age 24), perhaps his family is holding on to viewing him as child/teenager. That could be what's going on with your family too.
