20 is this normal? Driving 🚘

Question

I have a fear of driving I haven't learned yet. I practice on and off. When practicing the thought of getting killed in a car wreck is in the back of my head. My cousin died this way and in 2017 my mother was in a wreck. Any advice for me ?

I was a very anxious and nervous driver, when I first started learning. 
And once I passed, and was having to drive on my own, it got even worse and was getting quite panicky and anxious every time I had to drive anywhere. 
For me it was a combination of having anxiety anyway, and having been in a bad accident when I was younger. 
But you just have to be patient, and gradually build up your confidence with doing small journeys with routes you are very familiar with to start with.

You just have to keep trying and hopefully the fear will lessen. If you still find you can't get past it, it might be worth doing a few sessions of therapy?

Once you start driving you won’t even think about it 
And as horrible as this sounds- when you’re in a car wreck your body shuts down and you won’t remember anything. So at least there’s that.

It’s good you are cautious & have a focus on safety but truthfully all you can do is practice until you build enough confidence to handle most situations that you’ll come accross. Gaining experience in loads of different conditions & even under multiple peoples guidance is a great way to get a solid base to work from.
