Implantation occurs prior to your next expected period, not afterwards. It’s the cause of that missed period and those that follow (since we can’t menstruate during pregnancy). It also doesn’t typically cause any bleeding, however, this looks like fresh blood, which indicates you are actively bleeding. If you KNOW you ovulated later in your cycle and are 12 days late, then this is most likely the start of your period. Implantation can only occur during a certain time frame of your cycle and if you’re 12 days late, unfortunately, that time frame came and went a long time ago. If you are pregnant, it’s likely the bleeding is related to another issue.
