Umbilical cord infected?

6 days old. It stinks and top part is partially off. I have an appt today with her pediatrician. 
What will they do to treat this!? I’m freaking out

They'll clean it really well and probably use some silver nitrate. Trust your Dr!

My daughters looked like that and smelt horrible but when I went in they said she had no infection and to leave it alone. Since the skin wasn’t red or enflamed they said to let it fall off on its own. It ended up getting ripped off and dried out and scabbed over. So hopefully that’s the case for your child’s as well. It looks exactly like my daughters did.
