Experienced moms of two young kids, what would you do...

My brother’s wedding. My kids will be 6 months and 2 years. The wedding is 2 hours away. Staying in a hotel. No kids allowed at the wedding, but they want my oldest to be a flower girl (invited to the ceremony only). It’s an evening ceremony and night reception (8pm-12am). My husband’s family lives a plane ride away and all of my family will be attending the wedding. I’m a stay at home mom and don’t really use babysitters, so there’s no babysitter in mind to take on a vacation with us.

My mom really wants this to work and suggested we invite my mother-in-law. She’s really sweet and might actually agree to come and watch the kids, but I thought about the logistics today of putting two young children to bed in 1 hotel room by yourself. I’ve considered instead keeping the kids at home with the in-laws so that they’re in a familiar space with their own bedrooms, and my husband and I would be away for the weekend (daughter wouldn’t be flower girl).

Any other ideas? What would you do?
