Missed miscarriage after seeing heartbeat at 6w3d

So yesterday the hubby and I went in for our 12 week scan. We had previously had an ultrasound at 6w3d where we saw the heartbeat at 101bpm. Yesterday when the ultrasound tech put the wand down on me, I looked at the screen and said “wait, where’s the baby?! Why don’t I see a baby?!” She then broke the news that there was no baby even though my sac continued to grow and was measuring 11w4d. Has anyone had something similar happen? Now I have to take medication to help my body miscarry, since it didn’t on its own. 😭
