Hcg not doubling

I had hcg checked Monday and then again Wednesday. Monday (3 weeks, 3 days) was at 70 and yesterday 3 weeks, 5 days) I was at 94. My dr wants to see me tomorrow to do an ultrasound to see if it's ectopic. I'm likely either losing my baby or I've got an ectopic pregnancy, which will result in me losing my baby. I've read a little bit about people's numbers being low and not doubling then coming back later. Any happy ending stories where they all lived happily ever after when hcg didn't double? This is our first and I'm absolutely heart broken.
