Checking your cervix ?

They started checking my cervix last week at 35 weeks, I only made it to 1 weekly appointment with my daughter so I never got to experience this far really. Do they check your cervix at every weekly appointment? I know you can’t really tell anything from the checks but I’m geeky and love knowing exactly what my body is doing and stuff :p

I think they do check every week. The doc will tell you how far along you are and predict how close you are to labor. But you can always deny if you don't want it done

Did it hurt anyone else? I have not enjoyed pelvic exams recently and I had a bunch due to previa. Beginning of pregnancy I had tons as I did IVF so got weekly transvaginal scans and they never hurt but I seem to have got more and more sensitive the further along I go.

I've only been checked at the hospital, not at my OB appointments. I was checked again yesterday after an NST and I was actually really achy afterwards strangely so I get why some women turn them down now 😥

That’s up to you 😊 you can deny them if you’d like, but yes they will ask if you want them to from this point forward

My doctor isn’t checking me until next week (37 weeks) but it’s because I haven’t had any issues or pre-term labor signs. I’m nervous but excited to know if I’m dilated or effaced at all.

My OB starts cervical checks at 36 weeks, which will be this Friday for me. He won’t be there unfortunately due to being on vacation, so I opted to just get my ultrasound done and not see one of his partners for a cervical check. I’ll get it done at my 37 week apt.

I’m 36 weeks and haven’t been checked yet 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I haven’t had any labor symptoms either so there hasn’t been a reason to check I guess.

My OB checks weekly starting at 36 weeks but you can always decline.

In the UK they don’t check your dilation until your in actual labour 😔
