First pregnancy! When should we announce to family and close friends? 5 weeks today, first appointment at 8w2d. My husband wants to wait until after the genetic testing... that’s SO LONG to wait! Thoughts?

Told parents and one friend each within a week of finding out (5 weeks and some change). Waiting until second trimester to tell the rest. Someone once told me to only tell people you would be comfortable telling if a miscarriage happened. Whatever feels right to you!

I think it depends on who you will share the bad news with if something unfortunate should happen. We waited 8 weeks with my first, after a positive ultrasound.  This time 5 weeks because I basically look 5 months pregnant already.

I plan to tell our parents and his siblings after our 8 week appt and then tell everyone else after 12 weeks! Its so hard to wait, I’m around 5weeks 4 days with our first!!!

I understand that this is a very personal choice, and as this is my first pregnancy too, I struggled a bit on what to do. 
I ended up having to tell my personal trainer at 4 weeks, as I nearly passed out on him during a training session. We had planned to wait to tell family; including our parents until I was past the 8 week mark - those plans went out the window, as I had been feeling so sick at barely 6 weeks & there were several upcoming events where I needed to have someone in my corner. We told our parents in the 4th of July & asked that they keep it quiet until we make it through the 8 week & 12 week appointments. 
My best friend knows as well, but she has been my rock through TTC & said that “building your tribe” of support, in good or bad times is the best advice she was given.

I'm 5 weeks with my second, I've told our parents and 2 work friends as I was being sick and running off so they sussed it out pretty quickly and now can cover for me until I tell my boss

So we waited 9 or 10 to tell our family with our first. Then like 15/16 weeks to tell everyone else. It’s kind of fun to have a secret and I feel like it makes the pregnancy not seem as long. Less comments like “I feel like you’ve been pregnant forever.” Haha 🙅‍♀️🤰

Hubby knows, my best friend knows, and my Mom knows. That's it for me until 12 weeks. I learned my lesson the hard way. For 12 years my daughter was an only child, and if everything goes according to plan, she will be getting back to back siblings. We will tell her after my first ultrasound at 9+5 assuming everything goes well 🤞🥰🤰

Everyone close to me already knows. Everyone else will either find out along the way or after the birth. We don't have social media at all so maybe we might just do a birth announcement via snail mail.

I told some people at 6/8 weeks the other 3 times and backtracking is so much more depressing so we will be waiting till 12 weeks.
