My period is five days late but yesterday I took a pregnancy test and it came back as negative is it possible that I tested to early ? Because I am having unprotected sex regularly with my partner

If you are already 5 days late and still getting negatives either you are not pregnant and your period is just late or your HCG is not high enough yet to detect although it should technically be high enough already
