No DNA of baby’s in my blood? Is this normal?

So I got my blood test done at 14 weeks. No call back for any update so today, 13 days later, at 16 weeks pregnant, I call and she tells me there wasn’t any DNA of the baby’s in my blood that I need to come back in and get it redone. Please tell me this is normal. 😩

It absolutely can be normal. My doctor was telling me about it before I went into for my blood work, so that I wouldn’t be surprised in case it came back like that. She told me it could happen to me because I am a heavier girl and because of that, I would normally have a higher blood volume to begin with, therefore, could make it harder to detect baby’s DNA.
