Giving breastfeeding a go again
So my LO and I have had a really rough start to breastfeeding - tongue tie which got clipped, thrush for over a month, milk production issues - and recently I switched her to formula exclusively because it was just getting too stressful to keep pumping and sterilizing and not being able to put her on the breast because of our thrush issue and me not producing much as it wad. We found out today at her appt with her new pediatrician that she's allergic to the formula as she had blood in her stool and he gave us nutramigen.. Which is effing expensive 😩 I want to give breastfeeding a go again since my thrush issue has calmed down as well as hers (not completely gone but much better) and I want to start getting my milk supply up again to start breastfeeding again because I was so devastated when I couldn't anymore and there's no way I want to pay out the butt for that formula when there's still some hope that I can give her my breast milk. I do plan on supplementing with the can samples we were lucky to get from our pediatrician so hopefully we can do both so we don't have to buy the formula as often.
I'm going in with low expectations as my milk supply is dismal now since we have been exclusively formula feeding for a week now - has anyone done this before? Going from formula feeding to breastfeeding again? Any tips? Even if she doesn't take to breastfeeding again, if I can pump enough to give her what she needs and produce enough, then I'm going to do it. I read that fenugreek is supposed to really help? I'm trying to slug water too and I know I need to remember to eat everyday now (it's been difficult because I simply just forget these days).
Thanks in advance!
