Books on registry

My shower is November 1. My hosts have decided on doing 'Bring a book instead of a card'. The invitations have been sent out with a little insert asking people to bring a cute book that is signed, instead of bringing a card with the gift. I was wondering your thoughts on adding books to my registries (I have 2). Should I just let people pick their own books or should I pick a few (or a lot) for people to choose from and buy off the registries? I don't see many people putting baby books on their registries.
