My daughter is 5 months and I have (had?) plans to get a tattoo done on the 25th. The tattoo artist I spoke to knows I breastfeed because I asked him if it would be fine if I ran home and fed her in the middle of the session. (the session is 8 hours so she will have the breast milk I store for her in the freezer.) He never said this was an issue and was completely fine with it. One of my mom friends is shocked I’m getting a tattoo while breastfeeding. She said I should wait another year before getting one. I hopped on google and I haven’t found any research on this. It does say most tattoo artists won’t before 9 months. It also says that it’s unlikely for the ink to pass in the breast milk. What do you guys think? Has anyone gotten a tattoo while breastfeeding before 9 months??
