My mother is freaking obsessed with money. She controls my dad and his spending. Mind you, he's the breadwinner here and makes over 100k. She was a sahm for 18 years (which I'm so grateful for) but she controls MY FATHER'S income and spending. She has him to thank for everything we have. Everything. She constantly complains about how much he spends though, never lets them go out to eat, won't let him buy the truck he wants, and makes my very non technological dad use a dozen different streaming apps rather than just get him his damn cable. He works 12+ hours a day as a Mason, then recently has come home to do a ton of work on the house, and then can't even sit down and just simply watch TV. Meanwhile she spends money like there's no tomorrow, is always "needing" new shoes, clothes, electronics, you name it. She recently started working part time and justifies her spending as it's "her money"
