Not looking forward to this child care conversation..

This is going to be lengthy..

Luckily Hubs and my schedule works out to where we only need a babysitter 3 days a week. Well hubs and my MIL dropped a bomb on me that MIL is planning on babysitting for us. As much As I LOVE the thought of free child care, I am NOT comfortable at all with her watching our LO. She is extremely unhealthy, in the severely obese and she can't bend over to pick something up off the floor. She takes narcotics all day for joint pain and sells whatever she doesn't use up within the month. She is ALWAYS on FB complaining about heart problems and her diabetes. She just told me Monday that she had to take a heart pill AND even considered going to the ER because she was bent over, playing with the pups (she bred her two labs and had 8 puppies last month) and she couldn't get her heart rate under control. How can I expect her to pick our son up if he's on the floor playing? I can't have her holding him the entire 8 hours I am at work and I can't leave work every time she goes to the ER. She is ALWAYS in and out of the ER. She is also a very unclean person. Her house is a horder fest and I cannot keep count of how many times I've tripped in that tiny, two bedroom house, plus she has the two full-grown labs and she is keeping one of the pups. She is also always complaining about how my FIL and BIL don't help her take care of the pups. I just don't feel like having her watch an infant is a good idea. I just don't know how to bring it up to Hubs but i cannot, deep down, allow myself to let her babysit 8 hrs/day, even if it is for 3 days a week. I just can't justify my son being in this environment this much for free.. Even if it's family. Not to mention she stays up til 5am then sleeps til noon. She said she would switch her sleep schedule but I'm so afraid she will fall asleep and not hear him (she is a heavy sleeper). FTM Jitters
