Does being induced hurt a lot more then normal labor ?

I would like to know just in case that happens to me and when you get induced, can you have a epidural done or is that dangerous?

Yes I had to be induced today. My Cervix was not ready did pitocin for 11 hours and shut it off for the night. The contractions with pitocin hurt 10x more than the ones I am having right now. I am hoping she will get a little lower tonight and go naturally at this point otherwise I start pitocin tomorrow at 5 and should hopefully progress from 6-10 a little faster. I started at 1.5 and 50% last cervix check was 5-6 80% baby will be here tomorrow!

My nurses had me do nipple stimulation since I was being monitored and I never needed pitocin. You can always ask about that to hopefully avoid pitocin.

I was induced with both of my girls. First labor and delivery took 17 hours and I never felt a contraction because I got an epidural early on. This time I waited until after they broke my water. I progressed from a 4 to an 8 within an hour-hour and a half. The contractions definitely hurt, but it wasn't because I was induced.

I was induced on Wednesday and received my epidural about an hour and a half after the induction began. It was a lifesaver since I actually started having mild contractions before the inducement. This is my first baby so I can't speak to other experiences.

I couldn't tell a difference.   My first labor I was not induced and it was like 12 hours total.  My second, again not induced, I had my water break, but no contractions.  They finally started and labor was 35 minutes.  My third, my water broke but NOTHING happened!  We used pitocin at 6:30 pm, but not much happened until they gave me the max amount.  That was around 8:30ish.  She was born at 9:22.  We will see what baby 4 does ;)

I've had an induced labor and a natural labor. Can't tell you there was a major difference. I was induced with my first and it was a LONG LABOR. I went natural with my second and it was fast a furious. Putting them on which was worse is difficult because they are such different experiences. I think induction gets the job done if you need the nudge but have a hard time thinking it would hurt more than a natural.

I didn't think that it hurt any worse. My labor lasted 7 hrs and I pushed for 15 min. My contractions were stronger after they started pitocin. But it would've been that way eventually just sped it up.
