So had my sweep Thursday at 1ish, I was 2cm, 50% effaced, my cervix was completely soft and babies head was engaged so she said it was 'favourable'.

I went home and began to have crampy pains in my lower stomach (which I know can be from the sweep).

They began to wear off a little towards the the night time and went to bed fine, woke up the next morning with bad period pain cramps again, went to the toilet and had my bloody show and also had some diarrhoea out of the blue (Sorry!). I continued to have cramps throughout the morning which also started to ache in my back but they weren't really timeable! Again they started to wear off towards the night but I kept losing bloody mucus.

Then last night I woke up in the night with actual pains (contractions?) quite frequently for about half an hour to an hour but then they wore off and I fell back to sleep, today I've woken up feeling really tender around the stomach and having randomly timed mild cramps and and lost alot of mucus again!

Is it normal for pains to stop and start on early labour and does this mean that my sweep still could have been successful? I know it doesn't work for a lot of people but really wondering if all this is connected?
