I figured I’d ask because I wonder how common this is. My daughter is nearly 7 years old and honestly pretty mature for her age. We were watching a movie the other day and a lady was giving birth. She has been asking for me to have another baby for over a year now. Hubby and I have been trying for 7 months, no luck.

Anyway, after this scene, she turned to me and asked if she’d be able to see the baby be born if we did have another child. I was kind of caught off guard and asked her if she meant if she could actually be in the room. She said “Yes mom, it’s so sweet.” I chuckled a bit and told her birth is “messy” in enough detail that she understood and this girl is still so adamant that she would love to witness it.

I asked her how she thinks she would react seeing that and she said “I’ll think I’ll cry.” I asked her why and she said “Because I’ll love “her” so much.” 😂 (she wants yet another sister) Anyway, I’ve never ever in my wildest dreams considered it, but after our little chat I’m not 100% against it either. I doubt the hospital would even allow it, but it’s just something I’ve never thought about until she brought it up.

What do you guys think of this? Would you allow it giving the maturity of the child or absolutely not? My births have been pretty relaxed but god forbid something go wrong I’d never want to scare her like that. I’d love to know your opinions.
