Just light gossip/vent
So my friend (20) recently told me last night she’s been engaged to her 7 month long boyfriend for 3 months (he’s 23). I knew nothing about him so I asked. She told me he used to be heavily into drugs, taking all of them besides meth and crack. She told me he got clean and now only smokes pot and cigarettes, and I congratulated him on making the choice to quit for his kid (3 years old). Of course I was shocked to hear the news that she was engaged, but not that surprised. She has a tendency to jump into things VERY fast, and at one point she was engaged in 10th grade. Then she started going into detail about how often they have unprotected (apparently very kinky) sex and if they got pregnant, they’d figure it out (apparently condoms ruin the veiny feeling for her). Though I am slightly worried because they do both smoke pot often, and that along with not knowing you’re pregnant is a bad thing. I asked if she was ready to take on being a stepmom and she said “Hell yeah I am! Once we get his grandma’s house and have the money, we’re going to get custody of his son from his drug addicted mom!” Apparently the mom has asked him where she can get cocaine since he used to know hookups. I’m planning on going to her house next week to help with the wedding planning since they want to have it on January 1st 2020. They wanted to do it this fall, but financially they can’t. Of course I have my opinions because I’ve been her best friend since 6th grade, and I’ve always been there for her, but it’s not my place. I’m just happy to see she’s finally found someone she’s so comfortable with. I can’t help but be a little worried due to some of the choices she’s made in her past, and what she’s making presently, but doesn’t everyone worry?
I also can’t help but feel a little jealous. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 5 years, and I dream of the day my wedding comes! All I can do is plan my Pinterest board 😂 She gets to have her’s next year after only dating someone for 7 months! Guess I gotta find a nice dress huh?
