Living together financially

So my long-term boyfriend and i have been talking about moving in together. I work 7p to 7am as an paramedic. I'm also a full time nursing student (second career) He has a 9year old daughter who he has full custody of. We've been talking about roles as far as living together. He's a very Italian man who was very spoiled by his mother but he's lived on his own for a the past 7 years. He expects me do to the house cleaning, shopping, and cooking which i have no problem with. My issue with this is if im buying groceries family of three could easily be 400$ a month including household needs toiletries, laundry detergent ect, then to be the one doing the laundry, cleaning, and cooking plus a full time student and paramedic i feel that i should just be responsible for the cost of groceries, and a bill or two, plus all the house work. And he should continue paying the rent (1500 per month heat hot water included) am i being unreasonable?
