Sex 4 week postpartum??

My husband and my 1st wedding anniversary is in 3 weeks, which will be 4 weeks postpartum from the my first baby. I had no complications with my delivery, it was actually pretty easy. But I was just wondering everyone’s thoughts on having sex that soon.

No. You need to be cleared by your doctor. Having sex too early (like 4 weeks pp) can lead to infections, hemorrhaging, or even death.

Can you schedule an early postpartum check with your OB? You are usually cleared after postpartum bleeding stops but definitely recommend you speak to your OB before anything else

Follow doctors orders. I had to wait 6 weeks. If that’s what your Dr. recommends, then just postpone your anniversary celebrations a few weeks. It’s not worth risking infection or something bad happening.

I had sex 4 weeks postpartum. Told my dr at 6 week appt and she was more glad that I did because it showed I have no pain and healed fine. Said chances are low I'd be pregnant again, but crazy stuff happens so I waited 2 weeks to start my birth control but that's it.
