🌈My Rainbow Baby🌈

It's taken me ages to get back on this app but now that I am I'd like to share my Daughters Birth Story.

I have two babies in the stars that I lost before 10 weeks along and struggled with infertility so my daughter is my first full term pregnancy.

The pain of labour is something so intense that I could never quite describe it in realistic words, but I was lucky to have the most amazing midwife who did everything in her power to respect my birth plan and allow me to have everything I had hoped for.

My waters broke at 12:30 on January 3rd, and I went into hospital at around 20:30 when I was almost 4cm. I was originally told that I would 100% not be allowed the water birth I had always wanted but the midwife that checked me over ignored those notes and gave us a room with loads of ways of using active birthing and after a few hours of mainly a birth ball, I was 6cm and allowed to get into the birthing pool.

It goes blurry at this point for me apart from a few things, but I somehow managed to get through the whole birth using natural methods, no medical interaction, with just gas and air(despite begging for pethidine at the end and it being too late)!

My baby that I had waited so long for was born at 2:37am weighing 7lbs10oz. My partner cut the cord after we did delayed cord clamping and I cried and cried about how much I loved her and could hardly believe she was real.

And this is Esmae now. ❤️

pregnancy is not easy, labour is not easy, birth is not easy, and my god... parenthood is not easy! But every scare, every bit of pain, every struggle and every tear has been utterly worth it and I'm so lucky for it all when I get to hold her in my arms and know that I actually grew this perfect thing that I would give my life for. ❤️
