Birth control with least side effects??

Question

I normally use condoms with my boyfriend but i waned to be extra safe and get on some kind of birth control but they all seem to have horrific side effects like exess hair or super long periods or acne... What do you guys think is best?

I've had great luck with the Nuvaring. Been on it for 5 years and took it out a year ago to have a baby and I had no issues. Just went back on in May and things went back to normal. I tried a few different pills before I got on the Nuvaring, but I had bad side affects from all of them (nasty mood swings, heavy bleeding, weight gain) It may take a few tries or you may like the first one you try, good luck.

I had the IUD inserted; the insertion involved cramps, but the procedure only lasted five minutes and the protection lasts 12 years! I have the copper one, so I don't have hormones pumping in. It's supposed to make you bleed a bit more, but if I'm going to bleed anyway, it doesn't matter if it's a little bit more. I'm really enjoying it.

I have the implant, the only side effects you may have are a little weight gain, and longer periods, but that only happens the first few months and then the periods get lighter and shorter over time.

All types of pills react differently to everyone, personally I'm on Sprintec and the only "bad" side effect I got was a little weight gain(but it mostly went to my boobs so I'm not complaining). It regulated my period, got rid of my acne, my period is only four days, and I barely have cramps. Plus I've had no pregnancy scares.
