Can you over-pump in a session?

I have a tough time telling when my breast is truly empty, plus I’d love more milk in reserve and I can zone out if I put Netflix on while I pump 😉 So I’m nervous that I’ll be pumping and leave it on too long. Can you damage your breasts or hurt your supply if you pump “past empty”? Is there a past empty?? How do you know when to stop??

Your breasts are never really empty .
Pumping past when you think you’ve got all you can helps build your supply it can lead to an over supply.
If I wanted to get more milk I would hand express around the nipple area were the pump didn’t get to ..
Or I would wait alittle bit so i can stimulate another milk let down

I would pump for 15 min break for 15 then pump again. This tells body to make more milk but separates the session so you shouldn’t get as sore
