Is Marriage Important when TTC?

Question

Personally marriage isn't important to me. I think it's a great thing and I would get married if my boyfriend asked me but I don't care wether that happens or not. But it seems alot of women think it's important when TTC.

Marriage, no. A long term relationship and being fully committed to each other, yes.

Marriage is a piece of paper and your last name changed..  Me and my so wasn't married when we got pregnant 2 years ago and still arent married. If he ask me I would say yes. But marriage wouldn't make our relationship any different at this point.

For me personally it's the right thing to do. Dating...getting married and then having kids. And I want the same for my kids as well. Marriage might be for some people just a piece of paper, however for me it means more than just that. I don't think it has something to do with "old fashion" it's just the way God  want it to be, and I'm more than willing to follow him and his rules.

I understand many people don't believe in marriage, but if you plan to stay together forever I don't see why you would not take advantage of the legal and financial benefits in the USA that come with marriage.

It was important to me, but I don't think that just because it's important to me that it should be important to everyone.  Me personally... I wanted to wait, and we officially started trying on our honeymoon:)....it made our honeymoon that much more special. 
I voted not important though, because I don't think everyone needs to feel the same as me. I've seen couples just as happy with kids and not married.

Marriage is not a "piece of paper" as some have said. Marriage is a unity under God before your friends and family. Marriage is the deepest form of Comittment you can make with someone. Sure, you can have a baby with anyone, but seeking the blessing of God is different. For us, it was marriage then babies. I don't judge others, but I think it's best for the children.

If I get married and have no kids and get divorced I never ever have to talk to my ex again.

Once you have a kid together unless one of you is not interested in raising the child means you will be involved in each other's lives FOREVER. So, if you cannot see yourself making huge life decisions with this person for the rest of your life don't have kids!

Having a kid is the biggest commitment you can ever make in life.
