How to convince your parents to decorate your room?

Hi! So how do I convince my parents to decorate my room? My room has been the same for a few years and I never even decorated it, I got the room when my brother left for collage. I am grateful but I wanna decorate it, so please help.

What do you mean by "decorate your room"? Paint the walls? Because if they don't own the house, they may not be able to. If they do, they still have to live with the color after you've moved out.
 Did you want to buy things that hang on the walls or a new bedspread or what? Are you old enough to have a job where you can buy some of these things themselves? Can some decorations be crafted or bought secondhand to reduce costs?
Try to come up with a strategy for this. The more put-together your plan is and the less "hey I want a change, can you toss in a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff for this room plz thx" it is, the more likely some (or all) of it is to happen.
