It absolutely is a sign of labor. Just not a sign of immediate labor. It’s your body’s way of cleaning itself out before you go into labor.  Like happen for a month straight or one day but either way it’s a sign that your body is doing exactly what it needs to do to prepare for child birth.

I've had loose stools since week 28/29 and currently almost 38w😭 ... also had a crazy bout of diarrhea for 3 days around week 33 (docs were unconcerned even though I needed an IV to hydrate)...soon little one...soon! (I hope lol)
