So my mother in law thinks that my child is her child. She literally corrects me when I say my son and says “no he’s my baby”. She came to visit this weekend and brought her long term boyfriend along which was fine.. until they decided to bring beer and margaritas into my alcohol and tobacco free home. She even had the nerve to go behind my back and tell my husband that we need to start feeding the baby some baby food (he has a dairy allergy and I’m supposed to wait for his doctor to tell me what baby food won’t screw his stomach up next Monday) before I was ready to give it to him. She has taken away so many firsts from me. For example; I didn’t get to give him his first solid food, she did that (AND it was something he was allergic to). She’s constantly telling me I’m doing stuff wrong and going behind my back. It’s like she has no respect for me as a mom and doesn’t care what happens as long as she gets her freaking way. I’m at the hoping that I feel completely defeated as a mom. I don’t know what to do anymore. My husband says “she’s just giving advice.” But as of yesterday she’s been making life choices for him, not giving advice.
