Amniotic fluid or watery discharge?

So I have been having watery discharge here and there. I wear panty liners most of the day but now I’m getting worried that it could be amniotic fluid? Can someone explain the difference between the two or how I can determine the difference? What I have is pretty watery and sometimes either clear or a slight yellow color. I’m very unsure and don’t know if I should bring this up to my doctor or not.

I was actually sitting on my couch and I got up and there was a huge wet spot I thought my water broke but I went to labor and delivery and found out I just peed on myself what a relief they said if it was amniotic fluid it would be a big gush but I didn't feel anything just got up and it was wet so I think you will be fine but if you're concerned just go to labor and delivery or call your Dr.

I actually took a trip to labor and delivery for this exact thing . My discharge became watery and sometimes i would feel a trickle of it . They tested me and told me that pregnancy can change your discharge dramatically and to really  not worry unless it’s a steady trickle or there’s blood . Also told me that it could be pee from the baby sitting on my bladder . You should definitely get checked out if you’re worried . It’s always better to be safe .

Usually amniotic fluid is clear (might have white particles floating in it), and it’s continuously leaking out. If you lay down for 30 mins and get up, you’ll feel a gush of it come out if it’s a tiny leak. Discharge gets so awful in the last trimester, so it could be that, but calling your doctor or L&D might be a good idea if you’re really worried. Worth checking out. 😊

It may not be a gush or constant flow because the baby can lay low and stop the fluid from coming out steadily or gushing. When I did my maternity rotation amniotic fluid varied in colors so it’s not always clear. Discharge does change all the time but if your concerned get checked.

I went into hospital as I thought my waters had broke as I had discharge that was so watery, and lots of it. They hadn’t broken, but they took some swabs and turns out I was losing so much watery discharge because I had a bacterial infection so just waiting for a prescription now
