Can we talk about post partum birth control?

My husband and I are planning to wait at least 3-4 years before we decide to try for another child. What long term birth control methods do you like or plan to use?

I am thinking just condoms at first? I have to do some more research. All I know is I am never never ever going back on a horomone based birth control ever again. It for sure affected my body and my fertility.

Paragaurd! My sister had to surgically remove IUD with major complications. I have terrible experience with infertility from depo shot and I cant remember the pills for the life of me. Paragaurd is 100 percent hormone free for anyone who struggled with infertility.

I plan on using mirena or some other kind of IUD. I had mirena before my first and i really liked it.

Depo shot. I didn’t want the implant or an iud so I opted for the shot since it won’t impact breastfeeding.

I'll be taking the pill. I'm terrified of infertility due to IUd complications and I've heard horror stories of nexplanon getting lost in the arm. Basically I feel like the pill is the safest option that is easiest for me. Also I dont have an adverse reaction to the hormones. I took the pill for 9 years and had no issues.

I had an IUD I planned to keep in for 3-4 years - but I use a menstrual cup too for periods, and accidentally suctioned my IUD out. So be careful of that (it didn’t hurt but whoops). 🤣
