Considering an IUD. ADVICE?

Is IUD insertion painful? Also, how has your experience been? Negative / Positive side effects? I've just come off of the pill and I would prefer to have a method of BC that will help with my acne- prone skin and reduce cramps and periods like my low-hormone pill did.

I've had the Mirena for over 2 years now and I love it. I've seen mixed reviews, which you see with most all contraceptives since all bodies are unique. I haven't had any major problems, other than some mild cramping after sex. After a year on the Mirena I stopped getting my period completely which is awesome might I add. As far as insertion, I rated that pain a 7 on a 10 scale. Hurt like a bitch to me lol, but I know girls that say it didn't hurt at all. I cramped pretty bad for about a day or two then couldn't even realize it as there.
