Mild bleeding during week 27
Okay ladies, so I had quite a scare yesterday. I woke up and went to the bathroom (per usual) and saw some dark blood on my underwear. It was also on the toilet paper when I wiped. Naturally, I panicked and called my OB who suggested I come in and get checked. Well, my fiancé took me to the local Women's Hospital and they were wonderful. The midwife first checked my cervix to make sure I wasn't dilated. (Which by the way, was very, very painful!) I'm usually very tough when it comes to pain but it actually came to a point where I yelped a bit. Apparently my cervix is a little farther back than most women's. Anyways- sorry getting off track. So, I wasn't dilated, thank goodness. I also was not leaking amniotic fluid. (Another plus) They also ordered an ultraound and my baby boy would just kicking away. Heartbeat was perfect, placenta was perfect, overall everything looked it tip top shape. So they sent me home with the plan to come back in a couple of days and get re-checked just for reassurance. She said sometimes women just have old blood that their body takes a while to get rid of. Today I am still having a bit of spotting, but the actual amount of blood has decreased. However, I have started having some cramps. Nothing intense or anything, but it's something new. Could the cramps be from the cervix check? Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I'm a first time momma and would appreciate any input, suggestions, stories, etc. Thanks!
