Crazy fast birth! It’s a girl!
Long both story.
So this is my second baby. I went for my 39 week check up at 2pm today. I was 3 and 80%.
I felt tired and crappy afterwards. Went home and relaxed. At around 5:30 or 6 I started feeling heavy rectum pressure. No period cramps at all like with my first.
I bounced on the ball and that helped, but by 6:30 I was laying down and decided to see if these were just random or coming at intervals.
From 6:30-8:30 they went from every 6 min to every 2 and got crazy intense.
My husband didn’t understand what was happening (I was hypnobirthing and was trying to stay calm.) I even read my daughter a bed time story.
By 8:30 I told my husband we had to go. I just kept feeling the pressure like when you need to push.
We jumped in the Uber and my contractions were about 1 min apart.
20 min later at the hospital as I got to the correct floor, my water broke, and it actually felt really warm and comforting. 🤣 I hobbled to triage and they were trying to call my doctor and kept saying oh, 2nd baby!
They didn’t even have time to put in an IV line. (My nurse afterwards told me it’s the first time in 2 years she’s seen someone without it.😳) I didn’t have time to actually register at the hospital and when they quickly checked me I was at 9.
They wheeled me to a room. And the doctor who had just arrived asked if I could squat a little more. It felt the best to labor leaning over the bed.
I did and 4 pushes later she was born at 10:20
I just stood there looking down being like, wait, is that my baby!? Did I freaking just have a baby!?
I had to actually step over the cord so they could lift her up and I could hold her. 😄 It was crazy fast!
They told me 2nd babies come fast but my labor with my 1st was over 30 hours, so I really didn’t expect it to go so very fast.
Good luck to all of your mamas. It’s been so wonderful sharing this ride with you all. I hope they come smooth and safe and fast (but maybe not this fast) 👍
