Are 3D/4D ultrasound safe?

I have to get a lot of ultrasounds being high risk. They do a 3d one every month when I see the higher risk doctor even though I haven't requested it. I'm sure if the risk to my babies was too great they wouldn't do them. So I'm sure if you do one session to get pics of your little one that the risk is even more minimal.

I just recently had one done with this pregnancy. my doctor with my first child did one and said they were harmless but everyone feels different about it.
