Guys I'm so worried about my baby

Carrie

For the last 2 weeks my 11 month old baby hasn't been interested in food. Will only drink his milk (he gets 2 bottles a day)... He has no energy he literally gets up in the morning gets his nappy changed gets his bottle then goes back to sleep cuddling into me. His temperature is up and down I've been giving him calpol and ibuprofen, hes been at A&E twice to be told that is viral. This is so uncharacteristic of him he's usually terrorising my washing machine and unravelling my toilet roll... Im so worried about him he and he doesn't seem to be getting any better 😭😭 even I'm struggling to eat and sleep...

Have you tried offering more bottles if hes not interested in food so hes getting more fluids into him? Or lemonade iceblocks to suck on? My 14 month old has a cold currently with a bad cough and she went back to square one with foods wouldnt eat unless it was puree fruits and just drank milk. I hope he comes right soon it sucks seeing them upset or sick 🤕 maybe another trip to the doctors is needed if he still isnt right in another day or so? 2 weeks is a long time to be unwell

It might be a combination of teething and being sick then! Keep offering small amounts of puree stuff often and maybe try a extra couple bottles of milk aswell (not for dehydration but milk has more substance to it so if he wont eat he still gets calories from milk) hope the doctors will do something for him 😘

And yeah it seems like he's the same with food. He Ella's kitchen puffs but won't even look at them he'll let me feed him the likes of custard and yoghurt but nothing lumpy and won't feed himself he has 2 canine teeth coming through but I don't think they would put him off his food that much. Xxx

Could be viral and also teething?... I would give fluid icelocks.. in Australia they are called Hydralytes. If he takes them at least he's still getting fluids into him.

If lethargy is a new symptom, it really couldn’t hurt to just give the pediatricians office another call, even if you just speak with a nurse. Two weeks is not uncommon for viral, but better safe than sorry for the development of new symptoms.
