37 WEEK CONTRACTIONS !?

Alrighty ladies so this pregnancy is my first and everything has been very crazy and very new and I have been pretty much clueless the entire time. I know I am supposed to be able to measure my BH and contractions but I can’t even tell when they start and end. I have some nerve damage and feel like that may play a part in it. They did have to stop me in early labor at 34 week because I was having really contractions 3-5 minutes apart but all I felt was back pain, regardless I know I’m having the contractions ( I lost my mucus plug again over the past few days (I lost it before at 34 weeks and it “grew” back.) but I can’t tell how frequent or long they’re lasting. 
Last night while I was trying to sleep and all this morning my belly was very very tight at times and it was accompanied by lightning crotch and general soreness but I think it was just my sons body pushing against me? How the heck do y’all tell?

I always had a hard time knowing when my BH started and ended, so I feel like if you can't time them, they aren't true contractions. Once labor started, my contractions were very easily to time. I imagine even with the nerve damage you should be able to time them. And I wouldn't worry about losing the mucus plug. I had one friend who lost hers a good 2 weeks before going into labor, so as long as there is no blood and your water is still in tact, you should be fine.

Once they became true contractions I could time when they started and stopped. There was an obvious pattern. Then I ended up having back labor once my water actually broke and there was zero relieve from that. BH are not timeable.
