I am baptist, and my mother in law is non denominational. Ever since she met me, every chance she gets she will take a dig at baptist people. My mom (who is also baptist) was talking to her one day about the judgemental people in her neighborhood & my MIL said “they must be baptist, the most judgmental people I know are baptist”. My mom got real quiet and she hasn’t really spoken to her since. **I’ll add that my MIL knows my whole family is baptist. **

Yesterday we were out eating dinner and my husband asked her if they were going to try out the new church that just opened by their house & she replied “oh no, no way, it’s a baptist church” and she made a throw up noise. I honestly feel very uncomfortable every time she brings it up. My husband and I are raising our children baptist and she keeps trying to talk us into trying a non denominational church, saying that it would be better for us. I just want to be respected, after all, I respect her and her religion
