Small red spots on bananas

Has anyone ever eaten a banana that had red post on them? I kept eating a banana and when I munched down I saw small red dots on it. Browning is normal but red? Heard it was a type of fungus... or caused by a bug. Anyone ever eaten one? I bit it off and kept eating as the other parts weren't damaged. Now I'm kinda regretting it. Please dont be rude. I just need advice. I am 16 weeks pregnant
