Motherhood keeps you humble
We’ve been working on introducing the concept of the potty & getting my 18mo excited about using a big boy potty for a few months now. Definitely not potty training yet, but letting him sit (often with pants still on) on his potty when dad or mom sit on their potty; clapping like maniacs when he does; using potty words & just recently getting a few new books about using the potty!
So yesterday morning he’s sitting on his potty (pants off) & were reading one of his new books & he pees on the potty for the first time. I cheer like a lunatic & sing the hooray potty song from one of his books, we call dad & granny & everyone cheers for him 😊🎉!
This morning my stomach is grumbling & I have to go sit on the toilet. Well LO wants to sit on his potty too! Of course diaper free too (yay! Success he loves it!!) .... however he quickly loses interest & there is nothing quick about what’s happening on my end. He decides to hangout in the shower where he proceeds to start pooping. As I’m currently having diarrhea myself, there not much I can do but try to make a 💩 situation better... “that’s poop, you’re pooping, mommy is doing that in the toilet, that’s what we use the potty for, etc” I somehow convince him not to play with it & to come out of the shower as I try to finish my own business.... as he stands there waiting he starts to pee & finding that hilarious starts shaking his hips back & forth sending pee everywhere 🤦🏻♀️. So now I’m just trying to wipe my ass & get him out of there before he falls in the pee or something 😝.
So from the high of him peeing on the potty yesterday to my bathroom being cover in poop & pee today... I’m feeling pretty humbled.
Moral of the story, don’t let you kid get naked if you have diarrhea 😝.
Ps feel free to tell your own mom humble moments here.
