Baby smiling by 6 weeks?

My son hasn’t started smiling yet and he is 6 weeks. Is this normal? Is your baby smiling and when did they start?

My son is almost 7 weeks and JUST started smiling and doing little cooing giggles but doesn’t do it at people, only toys 😂 I’ve been trying to get him to smile at an actual person but so far he doesn’t seem impressed by us haha.

My son started smiling two-three days ago. At first I googled it just to double check it wasn’t a gas smile and I wasn’t going crazy. 
What I read was that babies usually begging smiling anywhere from 6-12 weeks 
Laughing/giggling 3-5 months 
I wouldn’t stress it though every baby has their own agenda and will do it when they feel like it:)

Yup she started right at 6 weeks with real smiles. I read real smiles start at 6-12 weeks so don’t worry!

My daughter is 7wks 3 days and barely smiles. She does here and there but she catches herself and stops. Almost like she’s confused at what her face is doing lol. She’s super curious and makes a lot of eye contact but just isn’t interested in smiling much.

My babe started kinda smiling around 6 weeks and got a lot bigger and “real” about it last week or so. He’s 8 weeks today and I can say “hi baby” with a huge smile and he smiles back🥰

Mine started smiling at around 4 weeks and I had heard it could be gas at that early but he’s still doing the same and it would be in reaction to myself or his dad talking to him so I think they were smiles

Maybe you're missing them! We get a handful of smiles a day and only in the past few days is he actually smiling at things that I think would make him happy (me, his toys, etc.). Our son is 6 weeks 3 days.

My guy was smiling and laughing by 4 weeks. I wouldn’t be too worried if I were you. It should come with time. Babies develop at different rates and your baby will learn something faster than another baby who it’ll take several more weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️. Sometimes I get worried when my baby doesn’t hit milestones as quick as I think he should, but I know I have to have a little more patience 😄.
