What’s the main risk of taking vyvanse while breastfeeding? Have any of you taken it?

So my obgyn said it was fine, but I keep reading that it’s not safe to take while breastfeeding. Have any of you taken 30 mg of vyvanse while breastfeeding? If so, how did it affect your baby?

Answer

There just isn’t enough research on it at the moment to make a determination on whether it’s safe or not. I stopped taking my ADHD medication (35 weeks now) by weaning myself off. It’s been tough without it, but personally didn’t want to take any chances. However, I’m a firm believer that if the reward for your functioning/well being outweighs the risk that may not exist, you do you, mama!
