Birth control pills, ovulation and all.

Ok so.. a doctor thought that I wasn't ovulating regularly so I went to a different doc and got a second opinion.. the 2nd doc thought the same and put me on birth control pills for 3 months in hopes that it would regulate my periods and hopefully get ovulation back on track. Anyone have this experience or similar??
