Has anyone toddler ever had the lip tie revision done?

So my daughter will be 2 in October and her dentist informed me she has a very bad upper lip tie.

This infuriated me because when my daughter was born we had issues latching and it was very painful and she couldn’t latch and even when she somewhat did she wasn’t able to get milk out and suck even tho I was producing milk. I kept asking the drs in the hospital to check. The nurses and pediatricians and even lactation consultants dismissed my concerns and never checked. They said it was all normal hat we just had to keep practicing. We eventually had to use bottles obviously and my daughter had a hard time with the nipple because her lip would curl under and she suffered with bad gas because of it.

So long story short when the dentist informed me of the lip to and explained it and showed me I cried because I was so angry at the drs who dismissed me and made me upset with myself for not getting more opinions when she was a newborn. But I was a new mom and didn’t know. I trusted the drs.

The dentist told me we could do the laser revision to release the lip tip. The skin is cover part of her two front teeth which will cause teeth and cavity issues in the future because it’s hard to brush where he skin is covering and it will most likely or already is causing speach issues.

I’m going to call to schedule the laser revision but I’m so nervous. They said it’ll just feel like a pizza burn but they will numb her before hand and that she’d be still too young to remember. I’m just looking for moms who’s kids had it done as a toddler and what the experience was.

She only says a few words so I’m hoping after the revision she will talk more as well.
