Renting out a pretty (but bad) house

Cynthia

So my family and I rented out a house where we currently are living. It’s only been one month since we moved in and there has been A LOT of things that have gone wrong with the house. Prior to moving in, the owner said that the house was in perfect condition (as it looked). Once we moved in, we realized the house is slowly falling apart. Here’s a list of things that have gone wrong since July 1st.

- Main bathroom shower head water had no pressure and barely came out

- Stove top worked, BUT bake mode didn’t

- Room ceiling leaks when is rains and wets the furniture

- 2nd bathroom toilet constantly clogs, since day 1

- Kitchen sink’s clogs on both sides (even if it’s all water)

- Kitchen sink water is ONLY hot

- Kitchen sink is stiff, doesn’t move, and isn’t properly installed

- Room closet door is VERY stiff and eventually fell off when I opened it

Can I break the lease and get my money back? He didn’t mention that all these things went wrong prior to us moving in, AND when we bring these things up he claims “this has never happened to him”. What can I do?! It’s only been 1 month since moving in.
