Anyone else having trouble taking the pascifier away? 😬

When ours turned 1 we started only letting him have it at sleep times, I think that's the first step. A month after he turned 2 we went cold turkey. He paid for a build-a-bear with a baggie of pacis. I had to leave because I lost it emotionally haha. Took about a week for him to feel comfortable and be okay with them being gone.

I did. I just stopped giving it to him during the day and only during naps and bedtime. That helped. And then when he started daycare, he got weened off all together. If he sees one now, he’ll still put it in his mouth, but he knows he’s not supposed to have it so he’ll start laughing when I take it from him. But he’s not addicted to it like he once was. I thought he would never give it up. But he finally did. I’d suggest weaning your child off by giving it to him/her less during the day and limiting when they can have it, so it’s more of a slow transition versus giving it up cold turkey.

Stopped at 7 months old for a day, then 2, then 3 and thought why stop now? 🤷‍♀️ best unintentional thing we ever did. Kid #2 same thing 🙌

We struggled with it. But he only ever had it for sleep time. We traded all of his binkies for a “big kid” bed and a monster truck blanket lol We did it right after my second daughter was born because I couldn’t lay him down in his bed and it was upsetting us both. So this was a win-win. For 3/4 days leading up to it I talked to him about what was going to happen so he wasn’t blind sided. He cried a lot the first 2 days but he’s been fine since then. Definitely takes longer to fall asleep now though.

We just went cold turkey. He cried for it for a few days but that’s because my niece kept coming over and she still has one but we’ve been a few months without it now xxx

Nope. We forgot it one day while leaving the house and never looked back, he did great all day even with his nap.
