Does a cervical sweep hurt?

Question

My OB told me he can do a cervical sweep next week. I’ll be 39 weeks exactly at that point. 
Does it hurt? I’m actually worried because I am a petite person and my OB is a 6ft+ man with basketball player hands. Haha.

I got the sweep done today. It was painful, very painful, but only lasted 10 seconds. Doc says I’m 2cm dilated, let’s go, baby!!

I screamed. But I also didnt know what to expect and it took me by suprise. It felt like a hard pinch/tearing feeling. But I delivered 48 hours later.

The hand size isn't what hurts it's the literal seperation of the uterus from the sac that hurts.

Mine didn’t hurt but was uncomfortable! I was really worried before it and when it was done I was like oh wasn’t that bad! Had baby 48 hrs later

Yes it does hurt. And I had a tiny girl do it. It was worth it though for me and i will be doing it again.

It's not excruciating but it hurts.

Its definitely uncomfortable but it has to be in order to even have a chance of being effective. Its super short though if that helps.
