Boy or Girl?

Question

I'm 16 weeks 2 days and I had my ultrasound today. Granted in my opinion, it was terrible quality and I waited 40 minutes from my schedules appt time for a less than 2 minute ultrasound. I asked about the sex of the baby, and my OB said she did not see any indication of the baby being a boy (no visible penis). Is 16 weeks too early to know or is it safe to assume baby is a girl?

I think it just depends on the way the baby is sitting. My doctor scheduled my ultrasound to see the gender for 20 weeks. But I’ve heard they can see the gender anywhere between 16-20 weeks. So it could be a girl or maybe your baby just wasn’t in a position to where she could see it. ( or if the quality is as bad as you said it is maybe she couldn’t tell)
