Baby girl born this morning/birth story
As some of you saw my water broke last night. I’m a first time mom so it scared the crap out of me but I was told by my doctor to go to the hospital immediately so I went and was about 3 cm dilated. Baby was happy and because my water broke they admitted me. My doctor didn’t want my membranes broken too long so she suggested induction and of course this scared me too. I made it to 4cm on my own and then decided it was fine if I got the pitocin but wanted to be sure they didn’t overdo it so I asked them to ask for my consent each time they upped it. I also got an epidural because I could just tell the pain was gonna be brutal. Here’s where it got crazy. They started the pitocin and only upped it two times and suddenly I felt a ton of pressure. Considering I had barely made any progression from about 10 when I got there to 3am when they started the induction I didn’t expect a whole lot but I ask to be checked anyway.
Nurse says, “so you’re about 9 1/2”
I’m like “wait centimeters? Like I’m gonna have my baby in a second?”
😂😂 I was SHOOK. I went from 4cm to 9 1/2 in two hours. My mom’s telling me it’s a good call and in no time I’m pushing her out. Pushed her out in about 45 minutes and got a minor tear. I could feel all my contractions at the end and when she was crowning despite the epidural but I wasn’t complaining. I think it helped me know how to bare down. She has a full head of hair and is the light of our lives.
Lilliana Esther. ❤️ 6 pounds 15 oz and 20 inches. She’s our perfect little girl. I’ll probably have much better pictures when we dress her in her going home outfit but I couldn’t wait to share. I can’t believe I’m a mom. Good luck to all the ladies still waiting. It truly is a surreal experience.
